ABOUT ME

I was raised in Denver, Colorado and moved to Los Angeles in 2018 to attend college. I graduated magna cum laude in May of 2022 from Occidental College with a B.A. in biology. I am currently working as a lab technician at the Moore Laboratory of Zoology, co-managing the genomics center. My research in undergrad focused on assembling a complete phylogeography of Green Jays (Cyanocorax yncas) using both morphological and genetic data. I have experience bringing both modern and historic DNA samples from the extraction phase through sequencing. In the future I hope to focus my research on the impacts of climate change and anthropogenic forces on biodiversity. I am passionate about supporting advancements in wildlife, and more specifically avian, conservation. I believe genomics is a powerful tool that can give us insight into the best ways to protect and maintain avian biodiversity. In my free time I love to hike, go camping, ski, attend concerts and bake.
